Why am I posting this you might ask. Here is the answer. SECTION 181 of the IRS tax code.

Section 181 “Indie” Film Tax Credit Resurrected in Tax Deal

With the signing of the new tax bill President Obama earlier this year has breathed new life into the Section 181 film tax credit that had expired at the end of 2008. Originally signed into law as part of the 2004 Jobs Creation Act, it has been resurrected as part of the new tax bill. The new tax bill extends the film tax credit to the end of 2011.

The bill allows income tax incentives for investors in independent film and television projects. Section 181 permits a 100% write-off for the cost of certain audio-visual works, regardless of what media they are destined for (e.g., theatrical, television, DVD, etc.). There are some limitations to the credit, such as:

The aggregate costs do not exceed $15 million for each qualifying production ($20 million if a significant amount of the production costs are incurred in certain designated areas).
A film or television production is a qualified film or television production if 75 percent of the total compensation of the production is compensation for services performed in the United States by actors, directors, producers, and other relevant production personnel (the 75 percent test).
The incentive only applies to monies spent from US equity investors – you cannot benefit from presale and gap loans.
Television production is limited to 44 episodes.

Billy Johnson- 9-12 year old boy to play the arch nemesis of our lead character. Billy is the typical boy, he likes to get dirty, work on his bicycle and hates girls. Yuck! Must know how to ride a bike and active enough to scale a fence.

Alicia Cunnigham – Supporting Character- 9-12 years old. Lead Character’s best friend. Happy go lucky type, likes everyone. Must know how to ride a bike.

Neighborhood kids- Varying ages for non- speaking roles.

Mr. Callaway- 35-45 year old, Slim build, somewhat gaunt looking willing to grow a beard.

Mom Parker – 35-45 year old, any body type, Mom experience is a plus

Dad Parker – 35-45 year old, any body type, Dad experience is a plus.

Mrs. Grindstaff- 60-75 years young, female, any body type. Able to be around dogs and children at the same time. Mrs. Grindstaff is the fussy widow who lives down the street.

Mrs. Cunnigham- Alicia’s mom, 35-45 year old, any body type, Mom experience is a plus

Officer Sanchez- Older gentleman Police officer.

While watching my daughter’s YMCA gymnastic team,  I had an idea to create a promotional video.  Carol at the YMCA was gracious enough and very enthusiastic about helping.   Shannon our gymnast did a fantastic job.  Take a look at the finished product.

Silver Line TV has the expertise and equipment to produce high definition video productions.  Recently, Warner Brothers hired us to shoot representative video of  Savannah for a pilot television series.

Silver Line is in Post Production of a USMC sanctioned documentary about the KC-130.

Throughout the volumes Marine Corps history, resupplying Marines on the ground has always been one of the toughest obstacles and vitally important tasks. Over the years, these resupplies were accomplished using ships, small landing craft, ground vehicles, helicopters and airplanes. However, when wars became worldwide events. The need to move ever larger amounts of material and personnel, faster and further, created a requirement for better technology and transportation methods.
